Definitely think we could use more of these, just so people know what’s going on.

We are about a month into 2023 and life already seems to have, both metaphorically and literally, decided to make itself tough. Lots of emotional baggage and personal stuff have come to a head this month, along with a difficult financial situation in regards to my day job that has made it very difficult to focus on hobbies. As much as I wish writing was my main career – and I hope to make it at some point – it’s just not feasible at the moment and as thus other things take priority.

But that leaves me in a weird position as this stress, which is mostly the culmination of several months of running around and trying to find some kind of solution and purpose, have put a bunch of things by the wayside. Star Wars Wednesdays? Obviously haven’t that in awhile. Certain reviews of shows, mainly She-Hulk and Andor, haven’t been completed despite my intentions to review the whole of those shows. And those retrospective reviews of Avatar: The Last Airbender are the same way. I’ve tried to keep up with movie reviews but again, seeing movies as early as possible costs money or time I don’t have so I only do what I can, like the occasional streaming release or a bigger blockbuster that I know I can’t miss. So what do we do?

Well, we get back into the swings of things, that’s what.

The goal is to try to post more consistently without over-burdening myself, which is easier said then done. There is a new schedule that I’m posting below but be warned I’m not going to be beholden to it for my own sanity – especially at the moment. Maybe once things quiet down and I’m in a better position then we can talk about daily posting again, but as of right now I just wanna get back into the swing of things. The only thing that will be weekly is probably Star Wars Wednesdays, mainly so I can catch up in time for The Mandalorian which returns on March 1st.

So here’s the current plan:

-Episodic reviews will continue for TV shows with She-Hulk, which will get dedicated reviews for episodes 6, 7, 8, and 9. Andor will also get episode reviews for episodes 5-12. First Kill will also finally get it’s batch of reviews done with reviews for episodes 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 respectively.

-Star Wars Wednesdays will return on February 8th with the long awaited review of The Rise of Skywalker. The Mandalorian S1 and The Mandalorian S2 will get their own dedicated, triple length long reviews in prep for the third season. Star Wars Wednesdays will then shift gears to reviewing The Mandalorian every week until it’s season finale.

–Avatar: The Last Airbender retrospective reviews will continue once First Kill‘s reviews are done. The Legend of Korra reviews will start up soon afterwards, no schedule date set for that yet.

-I will begin reviewing The Last of Us next week. This is more me getting myself to finally watch it cause I need it.

-There will be “Mega Reviews” of Succession S1, S2, and S3 in prep for S4 on March 26th. The Mega Review format will be also the main reviewing format going forward for most shows that have already aired, with the exception of The Legend of Korra, which will receive episodic reviews as several of them have already been written in early draft format.

-Currently Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the only film I have plans to see theatrically at the moment. I’m hoping to see Scream IV, Creed III, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods as well, among others, but we’ll see if those pan out. Other film reviews that happen that aren’t on the schedule are ones that I did not plan for, which happens.
